Did he hit the nail on the head? city spent 200 mill when in reality the talent is only worth 100 mill, he said it last week on the radio. Say's we overspent on average players and now it's showing.

Obviously mancini will take criticism due to formations etc but let's be honest problems were there when hughes was here. Can both coaches be really that poor?

Are certain players not good enough to take us into champs league? You decide!!

At the end of the day we bought what we could. We couldn't get better players because we didn't even have European football to offer them. When you take that into consideration, we couldn't have got anybody better.

Yes we paid far too much for all of them but that's just the way it is when you're in our position.

It's right, the 200m is the reason we all expect so much from our players. Would we all expect top 4 if we'da spent 50-100Million? Maybe some would who knows. If Liverpool had been on it this year, we'da been nowhere near 4th and sorry but that's the reality of it, if we wanna' challenge for top 4 next year, changes still need to be made, spending top money on top players for a starter.

these are my concerns totally, no matter who the manager/coach it could be down to the players basically not being up to it, the only player we have signed that would walk into ALL the so called big fours squads is Tevez the rest i don't think would get near

My sentiments exactly but that is the challenge for us now, getting into the champs league with average players and then being able to get the next level of player that will take us to the next step

No manager has 100% success rate, but honestly, have Hughes signings been that bad?

Great signings:
Kompany
SWP
Tevez
Barry
Given
DeJong
Bellamy

Good signings:
Lescott
Toure
Adebayor
Bridge
Zabaleta

Mistakes:
Santa-Cruz
Sylvinho
Ben Haim

Remember Hughes didn't set the fees, we were always going to have to pay top dollar as clubs know we can afford it. If your mate is loaded, you don't feel too bad about him getting in the first round and then having to go home..... Rich people pay more, and that' fair enough as far as I'm concerned...I'm always skint!
Lescott and Toure will prove themselves at City, don't worry about that....
