It's the primary reason why bankruptcies are so de rigueur among recently retired footballers, as they usually have significant funds in their pension which they can get at from (iirc) the age of 35 (earlier if their careers are cut short by injury). It's a relatively easy, cost effective and painless (for them) way of realigning their ingoings and outgoings once the big bucks stop rolling in.

You are right and speak like a man who speaks from experience of this? Aren't the government trying to bring in laws to allow the official receiver to raid your pension pot to?

What puzzles me is if this was White's family business and one would assume limited why did he not just like everyone else sink the company and start up again under a slightly different name?

That's very brave of him. Fair play.
 
Those were the days. In the Kippax watching Whitey, Coton, Quinn, Vonkey, I remember the 5 -1. Had a photo of the diving header on my wall.
What gets me is the atmosphere back then was 10 times better than todays games. Awesome. You would come home with bruises, ripped coats and nobody gived a shit. I lost a shoe when Quinn scored a penalty and saved a penalty same game.. Down at Villa Park. City fighting City couldnt work out who we wanted to win.
I miss the atmosphere. Nowadays bar a few sections it is a lot quieter. I know all seater etc. Still I have the memories. I was at the Wrexham game but in the home end. Never went to York with the other 50,000. £100 to get into Chesterfield away for two of us. Enough. The football last night was sublime. It has to be the best City team I have witnessed bar none. Unreal and bring it on.
 
You always knew Whitey had put a good cross over when he slippped on his arse..Hinchies header a prime example in the 5-1 derby :-) oh happy days..
 
I'm currently in a meeting with David White and Paul Stewart, who are instructing a group of football administrators about safeguarding. Some very heart-rending stories from their past. Very sad.

At one time I reckon he was as good as any player in the league. That game he scored four at Villa was as good a performance I've ever seen from a City player and that includes anyone who plays for us now.

Yes but David has said he doesn't believe Gary was abused, and has spoken out alongside his family at the media for desperately trying to link his death to Bennell.
