Sad to see in today's evening news.

The waste trade has had it tough last few years.

Think I heard him back on the radio last week.

This isn't new news from what I recall. Nearly sure this did the rounds last year, no?

Eitherway, that lad was a cracking player for City and should be brought into the matchday legends set up as a job.

Only in today's Evening news?.....happened months back, unless only just declared bankrupt.

No his company went bust a while back - different from being declared personally bankrupt.

Ah right.

I always remember John Arne Riise being declared bankrupt while still playing for the dippers, how the fuck does that work?........or have I got that wrong as well?,sure he was still playing.

Family trusts ring fenced to avoid creditors staking claim against that cash. This man is far from broke.
Top City player in his day. Can still see him push the ball very wide of the keeper as the hole of the Kippax held its breath. Shot cam in from an acute angle then yes..... That really is Ten.

i also held my breath in what was then the family stand between North and Main stand...and yes he did push the ball very wide of the keeper..close ball control was never his greatest asset..raw pace and a cracking shot helped him have a decent career as a right winger, and i was surprised but ultimately impressed when Kendall turned him into a central striker.Lots and lots of memories of White receiving the ball on the right wing around the half way line, taking it to the full back and just knocking it yards ahead and powering past him to the dead ball line before putting in a half decent cross...very rarely injured, very basic approach to the game.. a 10-1 er and a 5-1 er....that will do for me.

IM BETTER THEN NAVAS, the game what stood out for me was the 5-1 at villa park where he scored 4 I think but I know he scored 3, that is what we are missing now, david white getting past defenders and making a good pass into the box, no pissing about kick the ball forward and go

I saw a tweet off Paul lake yesterday congratulating David white on his new business venture. Online travel site. Can't remember the name of it.
This was only yesterday, so surely it a bit soon to be sharing up if you've just gone bankrupt?

Saw Whitey on the stage in City Square with Super Kev before the Hammers game, it didn't look as if his financial worries had impacted his eating habits. ;-)

i think a fair number of his crosses were in fact crap, a lot being overhit past the far post IIRC, but he was such an exciting player and few full backs could live with that mix of power and pace.

David White David White David White, David White David White David Whiiiiiite. Oh for the days when we were shite Lol.

Sad to hear this though.
Shite? We got promoted, established ourselves in the top league and finished 5th when White was at his best with us.

At one time I reckon he was as good as any player in the league. That game he scored four at Villa was as good a performance I've ever seen from a City player and that includes anyone who plays for us now.

There was no better sight for City supporters in the late '80s and early-mid '90s than David White flying down the right wing with the ball at his feet. His pace must have led to many sleepless Friday nights for opposing left-backs.

He was on the post-match phone-in with Jimmy recently.

All the best for the future, David.

I always find it difficult to feel much sympathy for ex professional footballers who go bust, however I wonder just how they feel now looking at the wages being paid in the modern game. I;m sure i read years ago after Steve Redmond had left us that when was out of favour with us and he was not picked in the first team his wage dropped to £500 a week. Still a very good wage at the time but nothing compared to today's money.

I have no sympathy for people like David James or Brad Friedel who had long succesfull careers earning very good money and still fucked it up.
