David White's upcoming autobiography (April 2017)

What a shame his golden years came when that dickhead Graham Taylor was in charge of England. One cap against Spain was an appalling reflection of how good he was.

Still, look what Taylor did to Lineker, and look what he achieved in charge of England with the team that got to the semi final of the World Cup - absolutely fuck all.

I recall him scoring in 6 or 7 games on the bounce - imagine the wank fest if Sir Marcus of Rashford did that?
Rashford has how many caps already and Whitey got one?

Up there as one of my all time favourite players.... unplayable at times ( both in air and on the deck ).

Some of his great moments have been mentioned here already, but one I liked was his third and Citys 10th ( Ten ! ) vs huddersield. the kippax was baying 'we want 10.....' whitey duly obliged running from half way, rounding the keeper and finishing from an acute angle with aplomb. Beautiful.....

Happy days

Idolised the guy. What a player. I hope all is well with him.

This abuse thing is far too prevalent and death penalties should be brought in.

Is there any word if either these offenses or the ones against Paul Stewart happened while at City?

I fucking hope not, because there will be some shit storm coming for any guilty parties across the sport.

I remember the first time I saw David White play, it was a friendly v Northwich Vics at the Drill Field. The game was virtually the youth team and Whitey must've been around 17/18 at the time. He played out on the right hand side, and repeatedly skinned his full back, who he gave at least 10/15 yards to. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as he was fucking lightning fast, but tall and strong to go with it. At the time I didn't have a clue who he was, other than he was a big fast raw winger, and when he made his first team debut v Luton, I immediately put the name to the face, I'd seen at the Drill Field.

Quite possibly my favourite player from that moment onwards, and although at times he couldn't cross a road, he was frightening when in full flight. The best thing he did was switching to playing up top with Quinn, that is when we saw the best of Whitey, and it was a crying shame when we sold him.

I know people say "if this player or that player, was playing in today's team", but I genuinely believe that Whitey, would've been unstoppable playing with the players, we have playing for us today.

Brilliant player and a blue legend.

Well Stewart is a deffo no.
He was aged 11 and then signed for Blackpool aged 16 and joined us aged, what?? 22?

With David White, it was at Whitehill which was a feeder club for City (like Blue Star and a couple of others). They were Sunday league teams but 'given' players by the club via scouts who City would then keep an eye on, send a couple of players down to Platt Lane to train the odd night etc.
