I know it was only one game, but last night reminded me how important and influental he can be on our game. He kept the ball nicely spreading it around the pitch and most importantly went in with his sliding tackles, winning the ball in important areas.

Maybe all he needed was more game time. The fact is though he played brilliantly last night, keep it up De jong :)

Thought he was great, definitely needed to be because of how quickly Porto break. Lovely calming influence under pressure too.

Was best game he's had all year for me was gutted when yaya went and de jong didn't get into the team we had alot off blues wanting rid saying hes not good anough what is rubbish. Well done de jong keep it up

I hope he gets a run in the team and gets back to be being one of the first players on the team sheet.

I also hope he signs on the dotted line because his abilities are unique to the club.

apparently he is too negative and shirks responsibility!!

great game last night, he is crutial when we play against teams who attack us as porto will again next week
