can see him stepping up to vice captain next season if/when carlos leaves with vinny taking the armband full time. makes me happy to see that so many of our players have a passion for the club!

We have a great spine to our team now that can be at the club together a good few years yet. This is something city have that other clubs around us don't. The spine of Chelsea and uniteds team is ageing. With hart, kompany, de Jong, tevez I think most premier league clubs would welcome that. I can't think of a better spine to a team in the league that could potentially still all be playing in 3-4 seasons time together. Add in players like Richards and zabaleta who love the club and give their all, the future is bright for city.

De Jong, for me, is our most influntial player. He allows the rest of the team, and in particular Yaya, to be more adventurous.
He never gets the credit he deserves in the media, always wanting to focus on his so callled "bad tackling"....bollocks....if you want a bad tackler then look no further than Scholes...yet look how he is praised to the hilt!
Add to that his obvious affection for the club and we have a wonderful player who will be vital to what we want to achieve in the coming years.
