Nigel De Jong

Is their a problem between Mancini and NDJ, i know he was injured for a while but seems to have gone from 1st on the teamsheet(lastyear) to an unused sub this year! I know he's waiting for an improved contract, but is there something more to it? I hope not as my fav player the last couple of years!

Re: Nigel De Jong

There's nothing to it, just read NDJ's interview from the other day.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.soccernews.com/de-jong-delighted-with-city-decision/81680/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.soccernews.com/de-jong-delig ... ion/81680/</a>

Doesn't sound like someone unhappy or planning to leave does it? I'd expect a new contract to be penned next summer at latest.

Not really! Other players are playing well, and the team is showing great defensive solidity and offensive verve. So why change that and add De Jong to the mix.

Besides, some of us have always contended that De Jong wsa just another good player (kinda like Zabaletta is a good player) but not uniquely special like most BMers would want to believe.

I think that tiny minority who believed City would not only survive, but actually excel in the absence of De Jong are having a right chuckle right now, considering all the flak they got for thinking outside the box :P

Re: Nigel De Jong

I was at my lads football training tonight and a Red Dipper seemed to think Liverpool were trying to take De Jong on loan - can't see it myself Scousers are full of xhite

Didn't watch the game as i was at a concert, but how did he do?

Is heback to his usual self or is he still lacking fitness?

Re: De Jong last night..

Well on his way back to full fitness and sharpness, kept hold of the ball and got his foot in, some good challenges, played well
