De Jong - ?

Now I don't want to be too critical, however I will be completely honest;

Today I witnessed by far and away De Jong's worst performance in a sky blue shirt.

I seem to remember how 'ImmaculatePasta' was slaughtered on here for criticising his passing; he was labelled an idiot, a wum, and had a few pointless stats thrown at him.

Well today Nigel's passing was abysmal, he never carried the ball forward, and from what I have seen of him since he came to our club 95% of his passing is the safe pass sideways or backwards. But it doesn't end there, Fulham strolled past him throughout the game today. He was at fault for their second when he tried to bring the ball down on the edge of our penalty area and put it on a plate for Etuhu, who thus put us a goal down.

He was swamped today, but that doesn't excuse his performance... he was shocking today, really poor in a key position which really cost us.

I hope we see more positives from him and today was a one off, but I'm not convinced as of yet.

Is he really the complete Defensive midfielder we're after?

I agree today he wasn't at the races, today IMO was his first bad game for us, but everytime he lost it he worked hard to get it back, but i have to say de jong is so calm on the ball and never panics, always very cool with it in posession.

yeah his passing was crap today and he really gave us nothing. Thoughts Zab's work rate was phenominal tho' today even though he made a mistake for the goal.

Uwe, have you not noticed Kompany's injured and Gelson is crap
