i did say on another thread "special K" & Nige were the 2 best players on the park.
Does what is asked of him,win the ball,play the ball.
Does it very well.

For a minute a thought he was going to SCORE! seriously though he is class and one of my favourite players. People underestimate how important he is for the team. He gives solid protection to back 4 and rarely gives the ball away and plays it simple. He is a battler and a winner!

While his defensive work is over rated, I have to say his attacking play is coming along nicely.

We missed him on last Saturday against Blackburn Rovers and Nigel De Jong is a great player.

I'm salivating at the prospect of de jong v essien a week on saturday, both started the season like demons - winner of that battle will be integral to the result, though i reckon terrys arse will twitch big time when he hears the reception he's going to get.
