I thought this when De Jong first arrived since then he has become a vital player for us, highly effective and makes us a better defensive unit. He attitude is first rate. He is better at his job than Yaya or Barry are at theirs and would be one of the first names on my teamsheet.

As for poor game tonight did you even watch it? He won man of the match at the game but clearly none of you were there.

Of all the negatives we could take outta this, NDJ isnt one of them. One of the best ball winners in the prem and miles better than fucking barry. Now he IS shit!

Nearly every pass by Barry lately has been misplaced. Twice in about 8 minutes today he lost us possession in fairly dangerous positions, giving Kiev a chance to put us under pressure.

According to the OS both players were equal in pasing and tackling, the difference is barrys passes were forward, De Jongs went back to the defence.

Barry:
Tackles - 3/3
Passes - 46/53

De Jong:
Tackles: 3/3
Passes - 46/53

Silva also had 7 passes which went to the other team, does that mean his passing is shit too? Kompany gave the ball away 16 times, lets sell him...

ndj has improved greatly on this offensive play this season, he looks to play the ball sideways, backwards and forwards now.

so what if he does pass backwards or sideways? we didnt buy him to spray the ball ala xabi alonso

next you will be slating joe for making more saves than shots on goal

FFS - people on here want a team of fookin galactico ball players. NDJ is a DM whose job is to stop the opposition and feed players who CAN open up defenses. It all adds to the balance of any team

is starting to remind me of Garry Flitcroft. He only ever passes sideways or backwards, and it really slows us down.

Everyone has a right to their opinion but like the bloke I heard slating Tevez as we left the ground, that right should be taken away from some people. I can only assume your just frustrated at the way things turned out

and before you say mascherano... Bear in mind last season Mascherano made 3x as many tackles as De Jong, completed the most passes and made the most interception.

If De Jong was like Mascherano/Lassana Diarra I wouldn't mind but his Defensive atributes are so overrated it is unbelievable - he is slow and poor in the air.

I actually think he is a good (ish) passer and good on the ball.

De jong plays for a top team already. One of the first names on the team sheet when fit. Also played in the World Cup final only 8 months ago. Think you best have a good long look at yourself because I don't think you should be supporting a top 4 club.

De Jong is probably one of the best DM players in Europe at this moment in time, in a few years he will be in top 3.
