Would be gutted if this were true... Drogba would fit really well into our system but we would be shooting our long term growth in the foot for the sake of the next two season.
I would rather we upped the price to £30m and tossed in Benjani and Evans than let Sturridge go... Beware of SWP's mistake Danny - don't go!
The ONLY way this would make sense was if Sturridge had made it clear he didn't want to sign a new contract in which case we should cash in now... hopefully he'd change his mind in few years and we could buy him back a la SWP.
