Baldini unconcerned by De Rossi

Franco Baldini has suggested he does not feel pressured to see Daniele De Rossi sign a new contract at Roma by January 31.
The midfielder has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, even as reports hinted last week that the club were close to bringing the sage to a positive conclusion.
The January transfer window is the Giallorossi’s last chance to sell De Rossi for a transfer fee as by the open of the summer transfer window, should he not sign a new deal, he is free to move to another club on a Bosman deal.
Taking answers from club shareholders on Monday, however, general manager Baldini expressed that he is not concerned by the continued delay to De Rossi making a decision.
“The question concerning the renewal of De Rossi’s contract is not something that I can publicly reveal.
“I can say that everyone has raised concerns in one direction or another, and all I can say is that the board of directors have given me management and I’m dealing with this with the required amount of attention.
“It is an issue that has gone on for some time but I am not worried or pressured by the deadline of January 31, we’re concerned little by it.
“Even before this date De Rossi could have signed for other clubs, so I feel no pressure of any kind. It is a decision that will be taken with proper consideration.
“Would we sell De Rossi? No, because from February he will be open to talk about a free transfer.”
