maybe paranoia but this seems like the kind of transfer that could possibly unsettle a team. He'd be awesome in CL, but our midfielders, especially in domestic competitions have not put in a wrong foot.
I get the feeling that if De Rossi came in he'd be an auto pick every game, like Yaya.
I do say this as De Rossi being one of my favourite footballers, but buying a world class CM for a months replacement of a world class CM seems extreme overkill. And it's not like he'd be a long-term replacement for Barry at his age.

I want to for years. The novelty is that he wants right away. In January. Center defender and defensive mid while Yaya is away, solves all our problems. I've liked him because he is a passionate player similar to Zaba but has tremendous ability.If we could get him for £5 million it would be a snippet

That can't be right - you don't buy De Rossi as a defender, it's like buying Yaya as a defender. Two midfield masters who are good enough to play CB but are not real CBs. But it's promising that we are trying hard to get him... brilliant player and would be great for us so long as he doesn't feel post-Rome trauma and homesickness.
