very well-written article about De Rossi's 'dilemma'

3 pages so I don't want to copy and paste

Well, after reading that I'm fairly convinced he will stay in Rome. The most compelling issue for me is that he loves the club and I would think just wants to know they still love him and have included him in their plans for the next few years despite the change in ownership...

For all I know, he may stay in Rome & have signed already, but that piece is written like a Roma fanboy begging DeRossi to do the right thing and stay, rather than a serious piece of journalism, so I wouldn't trust it either way.

Yeah, I get the bias in the article, but looking at the pro's and con's I just don't think he is a player that wants to move on. If I were in his shoes I would just want a decent wage hike and a commitment from the club that I have a future there. The fact Roma seem willing to accomodate him is the difference..

I'd be the opposite. If I'd given a club great service & now they were embarking on a rebuilding job, I'd say goodbye & finish off my career in style somewhere else. Gerrard should have done the same.

gerard bottled it ,not sure de rossi would do,i can see this happening the yanks theyve got are not spenders,if they were im sure herman could have been thrown in the deal, like throwing a dog in the deal when buying a caravan from a pikey...

I would love him here and we need a bruiser or two to shake things up. de rossi can be a right nasty fucker when he wants to be and we need em made from tough stuff

While we wait to see if we can get this perfect midfielder...

The (remixed) song is fitting considering it's from Gladiator. :D

He would be the perfect fit for our midfield, grit and style. We've got to do what we can to get him imo. Top Class

He is using City to get an even better contract from Roma. That's my first feeling in thsi transfer situation.

If he would be after trophies really or grat chance for trophies he wouldnt think this much. He is OK with Roma if he gets a big contract. He spent his life their as a child, as a youngster as a player and now he has 3-4 good years only.

Will he sign for City in the next 18 days? It would be hell of a surprise for me.

Could be another John terry saga but you never know. Let's hope he comes anyway............

My feeling is that the longer this drags out, the better it is for us.

Roma submitted their "final" offer last Friday. A week has passed and no signature.

Starting to think Tolmie is right and this is hinging on us flogging nob cheese.

Having said that, such is De Rossi's talent, I can see us moving in late in the window even if nob cheese is not sold. Its not a talent we can allow to slip through our fingers. Even if it looks bad with ffp initially, we know that we will sell a couple in the summer at least (tevez, ade, roque, bridge, onuoha) to make the money back.

people are acting as though there is no other player in the world that can do what de rossi does.I mean come on its not like if we dont get him its the end of the world.Does anybody know other brilliant midfielders the ones that come on the top of my mind are xavi and sweinsteiger etc what are the other options anyone a plan B.
