I only want him to stay if he wants to be here. If he goes (whether he wants to be here or not) we're down some excellent talent from last year. I hope he wants to stay because we'll miss him.

I hope he does want to stay, i believe with the right application he could be one of the best in the world.
But if his heart is set on Bayern then we make sure we get top dollar and we move on

I don't believe wanting to stay/leave is binary. He's probably pretty happy at City, but also thinks he could be happy at Bayern on much higher wages. It's not like he's fallen out with the manager/squad here.
