Think many on here rate Sane way higher than Pep and Txiki. If he was so good, we'd have made him a much better offer ages ago and Pep wouldn't have marginalised him during the run in and those 14 consecutive wins. We played Spurs only 60 h after the CL game and Pep didn't trust Sane to start the game despite being fresh. He is a cover for Sterling these days and started yesterday because Aguero and Jesus are not in form yet. He is much more valuable to Bayern than to us. But they should pay a huge fee if they are so desperate to have him.

Coman is made of glass, he's out injured again right now...and I think I remember reading somewhere where he said he'd nearly consider retiring if he got injured badly again. He was probably joking but he's proven to be injury prone. Besides he's nowhere near Sane's level and his price is inflated.

Kimmich would have been viable but we're getting Cancelo anyway. David Alaba and 80m would be nice...but Leroy staying would be better.

I want Sane to sign but only if he's happy to be here and fully committed to us. If not he can leave. This reminds me of Jerome Boateng when he wanted out. We soon forgot about him as we will Sane, if he leaves.

Boateng struggled though, Sane has two double digit seasons back to back behind him as well as a YPOTY award (even though Raz might have deserved it more, he was still the consensus #2 at worst.). No problem seeing Boateng leave as it just didn't work out, but Sane has been a beast

He has had a new contract waiting for a long time,i don't know if the reported 170k is a new offer or not

Beast or not, if Leroy doesn't want to be here then why keep a unhappy player?

Yes I realise all that, but what if KDB gets injured? I wouldn't want to sell Leroy when we can't replace him, even if we still have a very strong squad.

Leroy is not at KDB's level yet, but he is capable of getting there.

Liverpool ended up stronger by selling their best player, and City could do likewise over time, but it may impact on this season.
We won everything last season without Leroy and Kevin when it mattered.

Do Bayern have any worthwhile players to take of them as part of the deal? Coman still there?
Never rated Coman, he has always flattered to deceive. Looks like a Ferrari but ends up driving like an old dodgy van.
Besides, Bayern aren't going to trade a winger for a winger, one of the reasons they want Sane is that they are short on wingers (the other is the wingers they do have are short on quality).

Where did he play under Pep? Lb and sometimes in mf? Can't remember tbh.

Yeah, think Pep was the first to try him out in MF (as well as CB) and think he tried him as a wing back/winger hybrid too. Pep really was the one who made him world class, and perhaps he could do that again...as Alaba has slumped in recent seasons. However tbh I'd be happy enough with Zinny and Cancelo as well as Mendy, who seems to be out of our heads a little...for fucks sake if only technology allowed you to get new knees that were fully functional.
