run it down, a message couldn’t be sent more emphatically:::

Business head obviously tells you to take the money, however, something very seedy about it all, the way to bite back is alarm the little shit that 2 years without top level football is a long time!
2 years sidelined sounds great to prove a point but year 1 was injury where we've looked after him & year 2 before he's a free could very well be no football for any player.

Pick the battles we can win, this one was lost when he was injured badly.

I would love in one aspect for us to do that zin but I remember watching a presentation by Soriano where he stated the biggest thing he learned was knowing when to deal at the right price? I think it was ronaldinho that he regretted not selling for more money earlier? We still make a healthy profit on Leroy and replace him with hopefully sancho or another young winger like dembele or Ferran Torres?

They would never have paid £120m.

If they would have, they wouldn't have spent every single day of the entire summer chipping away at it the way they did, the'd have offered a half deceng amount to start with and shown a bit of intent.

We had started at £140m - they were down to £100m plus £20m in poss add-ons.

The deal would have been done I suspect before deadline day.

If we did hold him to his final year and essentially furloughed him, added to a 30 per cent wage cut players might take, he'd be on £40k a week before 40 per cent tax and NI.

Leroy would have to 'get by' on £20k a week for another 12 months - a lot to most - but when you are a Prem star with bills equal to that status, it suddenly isn't as much as you think.

He should have signed the new contract then.
Would have earned a lot more in that period when it was offered.

FYI the tax rate on the vast majority of Leroy's earnings is 45 percent oh and by the way I'm so pleased to note that the whole country is scratching their heads wondering how we keep sane during a coronavirus outbreak ?

Ironically the injury and virus situations have worked in Leroy's favour, if football doesn not return until September/October i think he will just run down his contract and look for a Sanchez type of deal of £500k a week and a big fat signing on fee , if he signs a five year deal he could make himself £150m , so he isnt going to take the rumoured £300k a week the German Rags are offering at the moment.
Not sure anybody thinks the modern football player is in the game for the love of the sport , their agents prioritise money over anything else , there is the odd exception , but they are getting rare. Sane didnt sign for us because he always wanted to play for us , he doubled his wages , won medals and he has used us as a stepping stone only Real , Barca , Juve , Bayern & the Rags are considered a better/bigger more desirable clubs mainly because of their 'istree.
Thanks for your time Leroy , its been a blast , but we will be just fine without you.

Leroy Sane has let us the fans down, he has left us in limbo not knowing if he wants to stay or leave, he could have at any stage said I want to stay but the conditions in the contract are not suitable, what would we have done? campaigned for a better contract, he could have said he wants to leave, Pep has said it before ` if a player wants to leave he can do so` we would have understood if he wanted to be closer to his family as others have.
Sane cost us £ 37 rising to £ 46 million we can take the hit let him rot without a squad place next season if a swap of our choosing does not happen

It may have something to do with the fact that people are commenting on a football site, specifically the one about a particular player

I personally think he’s behaving like a spoilt brat.
He had the offer of a very lucrative del here with us, got injured and now corona is fucking him around, he’s not getting game time.
If he wants to go, just say, move him on for a fat fee and we will be fine without him.

Potentially you are right, like all good poker players learn how to fold.........

You know what. I just don't care anymore. The club will have more important things to worry about in adjusting to the new world reality. Stay, go, whatever.
He certainly appears to be part of the total problem portfolio so converting a problem into cash seems good business to me.

I have always believed that if a player doesn't want to play for City then we should let them go as soon as possible. It doesn't matter how good they are it is the best course of action for team morale to release them. I am sure Pep believes this as well. There is no point wasting energy on people like Sancho or Sane. I am not bitter about it.
It's a free world (mostly) and people can decide to move jobs for all sorts of reasons...money, family, a new challenge etc. Unlike many fans I have no strong feelings about James Milner for example. The club is always bigger than any individual player. We need to move on from this saga.

If he was going to stay it surely would be done and dusted by now, he has a youngster himself to bring up and in the current world circumstances probably wishes to do so as near to his real family as possible I know I would. Good luck to him he's definitely the 3rd best German to wear the shirt after Trautman, Rosler and ahead of Immel, Didi H and erm Moz Gaudinio.
