He has had a new contract waiting for a long time,i don't know if the reported 170k is a new offer or not

I know. My point is that we'd have offered him more, say 230k, if Pep and Txiki rated him as a potential Ballon d'or winner or something like that. Pep rated him as a squad player when we couldn't afford any mistake.

I really like Sane, he is great at his best. But he is worse than Sterling and Bernardo. I suspect he wanted more money than Bernardo, Laporte and other key players. We could not give him that.

True, I phrased that poorly, but Sancho presumably wanted away as he could see little opportunity ahead.

Yep wanted to play and Dortmund promised him that and he has proved it was the right decision how went about though was not great.

Think the problem with regards to Sane and demanding wages is his ceiling is probably the highest (although Bernardo seems to prove me wrong every game) but his floor is lower than the likes of Raz, Aguero, KDB and Bernie. Hard to justify it then.

He is not worse he is a different player to either of them, they can't do what he does in that position, raz is wasted out wide imo,it's a bit of a leap to say he wants kev level wages

The more I think of it the more unreal it gets.
If it’s true BM are offering him £360 a week on a 5 year contract that will cost them £94 million in wages plus transfer fees. If they are hoping to get him for a slash down say £80 million that’s a deal worth near £175m. Even if we agreed to sell at such a low price (which I would hope we won’t) I am certain BM have never spent that sort of money on a single player and it would doubtless unbalance their wage structure.
I find it hard they to believe would do this just to sign one player.
If we hold out for the full £137m then the outlay for BM would be £231m. That’s staggering and is just not going to happen.
Even if Leroy wants to leave it ain’t gonna be easy for him to do so.

Where do you think Sterling should play if he’s wasted out wide?

Should just tell them they're not dragging this out through August if it's not done before Friday fuck off.

Personally I wouldn't sell him at all now, far too late in the window and I know we're not planning on a replacement if we do but that's also a mistake.

Keep hold of him and hopefully convince him on a new contract, he was close to signing last season.

Raz isn't wasted on the left wing, we won 14 in a row with him being excellent in that position. Of course he and Bernardo are better than Sane, at least in Pep's system which won us 198 pts over 2 seasons. This is why they have been regular starters in the run-in and not Sane.
