Sad if he goes It's not like he needs to leave to win things and doubt he'll be short of a few quick either way. He may be just too young to realise the opportunity opening up for him but if he he can sort his head out. You'd hope he could see the pathway already opened up for him to become the main front man when Sergio shuffles off season after next. Another season developing his skill set (like heading) then he becomes the main man.

Maddening too because D.Silva will also be moving on by then so Bernardo presumably will start to move into middle. It would be the perfect scenario for him and you'd hope the adulation that he's seen KOMPANY get would make him think there's more to this beyond just silverware and cash. Still if its his lass or living in Manc, what can we do but start looking for his replacement.

Depends what his priorities are. If he sees himself emulating what Angelina Ballerina did at mu then we can offer stability and the best coach of our time. Or he can try his luck at Bayern and see how it goes when you start to get bigger than those twats in the board room. They aren't interested in his future the same way our club will nurture him.

Good post. It's up to him in the end. Our club is pretty damn good at accumulating trophies playing beautiful attacking football, on top of a decent wage and winning bonuses not sure what else he wants to achieve in his career. Be a terrible shame to see him leave because on his day he's one hell of a player.

Bayern pay what we want for him or they look elsewhere at a cheaper option, we hold the cards on this one, still 2 years left and though his value drops the longer this goes on, we are one of a few clubs who in reality can take that
Im not sure we would be willing to absorb the loss of allowing him to run his contract down, nor should we imo

As much as we're doing fantastically well, it's understandable for a young immensely talented German who maybe feels underappreciated to fancy a move to Bayern. The lad will have a fantastic career, if he ever starts to put it all together he could be the best left sided forward in the world.

The bottom line is if the management team feel he’s not prepared to work as hard as he needs to, the club will want him out. That’s even if it costs us more to sell and replace him than it does to just give him more money to stay. Pep’s been trying everything to get the penny to drop with Leroy for over 18 months. Is he much better now in that regard than when we signed him? Not particularly, I would say. So it wouldn’t surprise me if he was to leave. How many years of patience does Pep have with him? Can’t be much more than the time that has already passed!

If Bayern is using Leroy to get one over us, I would let him run down his contact and have him sit on the bench as a super sub. This will fuck up Bayern's plan to replace their wingers with Sane for the next two seasons, or they pay his market value like anybody else.

Fuck em
What is his market value considering all the nuances in play at the moment?

Paranoid much?

They need a winger and they need more German players. There aren't many others who match both criteria. Its really quite straight forward

I'm not saying we should or would, but with 2 years left on his contract we shouldn't be bullied into accepting any offer just cos Munich say that's all they're prepared to pay
I dont think we should be bullied either and am confident we wont be but there will be a fulcrum point whereby we will deem it cost effective to release him (assuming he is going of course) and, I am sure whatever that price might be, it wont be as high as many are crying out for

Totally understand if he wants to play in his home country for a top team and has been promised a week in week out starting position.

Situations like this are going to happen as we accrue the worlds best young talent.

Personally i rate him much higher than Sterling but you cant argue with Sterling's figures this season so how could Pep drop him?

It's up to Leroy now and how patient he is willing to be and fight for a spot but if he does leave we will get a great return on him and strengthen regardless.

Trust in Pep.
