Elanjo, stop talking shit will you?

Drugs are being sold (allegedly) from a house, they have kids. I'm sure other kids live close by. This is illegal, drugs fuck lives up directly and indirectly. My house was burgled so some scrawny little **** could buy some drugs (I know this cos the cops caught the little fucker and guess what, he's a fucking smackhead).

It would be morally wrong not to report these vermin.

I do not care whether something is illegal or not. It has no relevance at all

And I've already stated my case(or atleast part of it), if you want to just say it I am talking shit without even backing it up with reasons why my points are wrong, then there really is no point you even replying to me(and me to you). It's akin to pointing 2 TV's at each other and expecting some meaningful dialogue between the two. Utterly pointless, a waste of time and abit insane ;).

Well then you obviously didn't fully read my post.

I gave a number of reasons and even anecdotal evidence of crimes being commited (I think in your initial post you said there was no violence going on, or perhaps you think burgling houses with or without the use of violence is acceptable?), and therefore illustrated why you are wrong.

To say "I do not care whether something is illegal or not. It has no relevance at all" beggars belief to be honest and a comment like that should be treated with contempt.

Regarding your points, you haven't really made any. You've spouted some hippy nonsense, and tried to disguise it as an intellectual social commentary, but you've not actually said much. Have you?

For the love of god glenda do not go and talk to the dealer, your just giving yourself away and leaving yourself open to reprisals. Stay away from your windows stop nosing and leave it for a while say a couple of weeks, then phone crimestoppers to make sure no one thinks its you thats the grass.

Glenda

If it is making you feel uncomfortable in your own home and you feel that the neighbourhood is suffering then GRASS THE BASTIDS.

I already stated why, as I see it based on research and logic and not emotion, the majority of crimes/thefts etc occur..... why the majority of people, who are likely to turn to crime, take drugs...... the fact that playing Whack a Mole with dealers isn't going to stop the problems of drugs etc and the immorality of throwing people, who have not committed violence/theft/fraud, into jail.
You actually said nothing new that I hadn't already stated or acknowledged. Of course some users will turn to theft... but it is poverty, not drugs themselves, that is the cause. And your 1st question just backs up why I think it is pointless trying to have an honest, intelligent debate with you.

As for treating me with contempt for saying that something being illegal has no relevance. Do you just blindly obey authority whether it is right or wrong? Would you have stood idly by - no, supported - the lack of rights for blacks? ( I could go on and on and on) The principle is there that law isn't always right and it certainly is not a primer when it comes to morality. You are like Socrates.... but without the philosophy! For this, I do not view you with contempt, I view you with pity.

Elanjo, of course poverty leads some people in to this way of life, but ultimately it's still a matter of personal choice to go down this route. Surely personal responsibility & self-respect should come in to it.

Just as an after thought - 9/11 was funded on only £300k mainly credit card fraud!

Sorry to reiterate this point, but this is NOT a social problem. I' not preaching here, as I state regularly I spend alot of time in Amsterdam, in a legal way.

If you grass your just as bad if not worse than the dealer....nobody like a grass. Close your curtains and get on with your life. Was you in rita, sue & bob too ?????????????????????????????????????

The going down the route( of taking drugs, I presume - not poverty) is a personal choice. I agree. As it should. As is most things.

The saying: I can swing my fists around all I like, but my right to do so ends at your nose, speaks well I think. If a "user" ends up stealing off you to feed his habit he is wrong and retribution is legitimate. However, he is only stealing because he lacks the money in the first place to fund his way of life. He is stupid for living above his means, but the Government, and welfare, has created more (permanently) poor people and as a consequence more habitual drug users than ever before. The root of the whole problem is Government and the reliance of both users and the general public on government. The users reliance is obvious. The general public are so out of touch with each other nowadays, communities are non existent, because we all live through government. "Nanny statism", the familiar term, has completely uprooted society from itself, undermined the family (where every problem in our society originates from) and created so many negative unintended consequences, in my view because government is based on force therefore nothing really can come from it, that all our problems are magnified and run riot over us.

Anyway, I'm off to watch LOST.... again.
