Dear Jim Cassel
I would like to congratulate you on bringing through yet another amazing young tallent through your academy system.

Yesterday I watched the final of the Vodacom chalenge and in my oppinion the highlight of which was young Vladimire Wiess. For me he was the man of the match, even though he was only on the field for a short period of time. I can only imagine how proud you must feel after seeing one of your graduates move up to the first team and put in a preformance that said "Sparky watch out, Im not just knocking on your door, Im kicking it in and coming through.

His flair, fire, ball control and all round confidence and contribution to the game showed that he, all though not the finished article, has a great future ahead of him.

So, Sparky you know you cannot ignore this lad, he is a real tallent with a lot more to offer.

Well done Jim, its moments like that that make me proud to be blue.

well said, vicky.

i was having a conversation with my brother the other day about this very subject. i think that jim has done an outstandig job of developement of the youth lads, all the more exciting as the lads coming through will be learning of the likes of barry, tevez, ade and all the others that will come.

there was somebody on another thread mentionig that the kids coming through will be unmotivated, as they will hit a 'glass ceiling' with all the world stars that will be playing for us taking 1st team starts. i disagree, to learn from the best is what every young player wants, even the most gifted need to be shown many do's and donts by senior players.

even in the worst case senario, we end up selling young players, that is still a top commendation for jim, to produce players for other teams to benefit is a good thing as we will get money from this also.

i have lost track of the number of youngsters now plying their trade as proffessionals after jim has worked his magic.

very well done.

echoed, jim and his staff are doing a great job

Weiss, McGivern, Mee, Logan, McDonald, Vidal, Kay etc.....I would seriously rank City about 2nd behind West Ham in having the best youth academy. The amount of talent we have produced recently is phenomenal Wright-Phillips, Evans, Sturridge, Miller, Richards, Ireland, Ned, Micky Johnson and thats just off the top of my head.

Yes I agree with all those comments. I to have lost track of how many young and outstanding tallents Jim has brought through his academy and I personally would like to see the club as a whole show more recognition for his efforts. This is why I started this post, just so we can all say, as supporter, how proud we are of all he has acheived for the academy and the club as a whole.

Again, thank you Jim, you have done yourself, the club and us fans proud over the years.

Long may it last.

They have brought in some quality talent lately such as: Jordan Spence, Fred Sears, Junior Stanislas, Jack Collison, Mark Noble and throughout the last couple of years with: Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick,
Jermaine Defoe....Can't think of any more ATM.

City have a great youth center best West Ham without a doubt is currently better.
