If we win the league, then fuck FFP, what would be the point in signing him, we wouldnt be allowed to enter the competition we would next want to win..

I say we carry on regardless and wait for these rules to be challenged in court and removed. Look at PSG, they are spending loads
 
he's overrated, until he does it on a wet winter midweek match at Stoke il remain unconvinced
 
Before I say what I am going to say let me say something first. "I think Messi is the greatest player on the planet hands down, no question."

Now that's out of the way.

I believe his success has a lot to do with the type of team he plays in. I think he plays in the perfect league and team for his skill set. I just honestly can't see him doing some of what he does in England. Would he be the best player here? Probably, but not near as dynamic and dominant as he is in Spain, in that team. At the end of the day you just play for the team you are on, and he happens to be playing for the greatest team I have ever seen (imo of course). Please don't skew what I am saying, he's the best.

I feel the same, it is not often you see this setup. He is the best i agree but only as you say due to the way Barca play the best system to fully utilise him.

I feel he would do well at any team but he may have been stunted if he was in say Mourihno's Chelsea team due to tactics etc.
All the pieces have come together perfectly for Barca and they have earned every bit of it.
They saw they needed to shake it up around 2000 so they did and now they are getting the rewards.
