It is pretty good,but then after St Anger,anything would be an improvement.
Not sure if it equals the "Black" album,but certainly comes a close second.imo.

Best they have done since The Black Album......think they took a wrong turn after that album...trying to shake free of it's 'commercialism' and basically put out stuff as far removed from it as possible. Sadly most of it was crap.
A lot of bands do that though, most stay shite then, but some, as Metal Licka have, realise that they need to return to what people loved about them and get back on track....Death Magnetic certainly is!

it is a testament to how good their earlier stuff is that they can put out 3 bad albums and still be one of the best in the world.

For me Justice was their peak. The mechanical clean sound that they got off that album was amazing. Black album was also excellent, after that they seem to have lost thier edge. DM has recaptured some of the quality of their earlier stuff with some excellent drumming, riffs and leads.
