I never want their success. There fans all expect them to win every game every season. I worry my kids will grow up supporting a succesfull team and be obnoxious cnuts who've never been in the lower leagues.
If(yes if) we win something we will apreciate it because of all the shit times.
Can you imagine going to a ground like the swamp every week with the tourists and market stalls?
Fuck me, I think I'll go and support Hull.
Luckily we are City and we will fuck it up. Some success then a major disastor club nearly into administration, down into 1st division and then start again.
That will do me.

Go and support Hull then. Come back if/when we are shit and you can continue to wallow in your own self pity.

When I go to COMs and it looks like the swamp did on Wednesday I wil go and support Hull because we will have lost our soul.
Self pity?? are you sure you know what this means?

well since the glazers took over they seem to be doing ok to me

Not any more.

you say that but were second in the league, knock out stages of the champions league, final of league cup, take the leeds result out and were pretty much on course for a acceptable season

and the debt is that bad, we've got no money, ronaldo money went to the debt..

yet we have enough to spend 14m on an untried 20 year old

just some food for thought, as a firm glazier outer i am very unhappy with the way the CLUB is being run, but on the pitch its not as bad as everyones making out

would you prefer uniteds debt and their success or city billions and no success

after all we support the football team not the business

I'd rather have no history than no future.

but they will have a future if you honestly think that the glazers are going to take united into admistration and do a leeds or something along those lines you are very much mistaken

They won't do a leeds, no i don't expect that, were just gonna see them not win anything for a long time and struggle to keep up with the big boys in the league.

Personally, I think this debt business is all smoke and mirrors. Like it or not, the rags have a fanbase like no other, and any sensible billionaire would know that and it might well be not if, but when someoene buys the Glazers out. As and when they do, we'll have to start worrying again.

How much did Sheik Mansour put into City? And has subsequently done? If he can do that, then surely someone else would put similar amounts into the rags given their recent history.

So for me, I really don't think it's an issue for them really. Baconface had 80 million from the tranny deal and has spent hardly any because he didn't feel the need. Come the summer it might be different. I think if he was to lose anyone decent, and couldn't strengthen, then it might just be the beginning of their downfall, but I personally won't be writing any epitaphs yet.
True to some degree but their debt is not smoke and mirrors. Despite their claimed 135m fans, they make very little from the overwhelming majority of those "fans". The vast bulk of the money comes from people through the turnstiles and TV/prize money. About the one thing that might realte to their fan base is commercial income. Sponsors know that it's a good thing to be "associated" with them. As long as they are successful then that will continue.

But that's where the debt comes in. It's now clear that every penny they make will be going to pay or service debts. That includes the Ronaldo money which, despite what Baconface says, has clearly gone and it's gone into the Glazers' pockets following the news of the payment of £70m they are about to take. That means they will struggle to buy anyone decent and will be relying on free transfers and youngsters (who will bring their wage bill down).

The key question is can they be successful under those circumstances (plus Baconface will be off soon)? But until that situation is clear then no one will buy them as the whole thing could collapse like a pack of cards. If they're not successful and finish out of the top four then they are in serious trouble as everything is dependent on getting a fair way in the CL (last 8). also the Glazers are probably on their uppers at the moment and relying on the rags to keep them going. They would probably have to sell at a loss the way things are and daren't do that.

The thing about buying us was that we came cheap. Probably it will cost the Shiekh £500m but he will (or should) have a big club for that. Buying the rags would cost about £1.3bn and you'd have a club with little room to grow and lots of potential down-side.
