Decent Books

Cheers a couple of books already purchased from the list.

Some great Biographies i have read are:

Bobby Robson
Ian Botham
Lance Armstrong
Tony Adams
George Best (Tin hat on)

A Season With Verona

Brilliant book that is a great piece on what it is to be a football fan. How we are all searching for villains and people to blame for our misfortunes. As much a travel book on Italy and its culture as it is about football. Also makes you thankful for how easy it is to go to away games in this country. Great read.

The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
Factotum by Charles Bukowski
The Iron Man by Ted Hughes

But especially The People of Paper by Salvador Plascencia. Takes a lot these days for a book to make me close it halfway through a chapter and exclaim 'Fucking Hell' with a smile on my face...

for a bit of a giggle i hear them clarkson ones are good, im off on ma holz soon so im thinkin of gettin one or frankie boyles one

Just finished reading Papillon by Henri Charriere. Absolutely loved it. I've been meaning to read it for years after seeing the Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman film from the 70's (excellent as well by the way).

It's about the 13 years he spent on the French Penal colony of French Guyana (sometimes called Devils Island) in the 1930s and 40s. He made several escape attempts spending nearly four years in total solitary confinement, 6 months of which in total darkness.
