I went to 'Fresco' in Delph in the new year.Had spaghetti with meatballs and it was made frome packet pasta!! Having been to Italy 5 times, fresh homemade pasta is mandatory of any decent eaterie worth it's Carbonara. Packet pasta is tantamount to having frozen chips n' veg in a restaurant and is just not acceptable when they claim their food to be authentic, especially when they charge top dollar. I complained to a rather spotty faced 17ish year old waitress who couldn't understand me coomplaining that the pasta was not fresh. Mind you, it was no doubt better than the noodle doodles she was probably used to eating!

So how many restaurants have you eaten in where the choice of produce is determined by the "spotty faced waitress"?

If it was as you say it was then surely you should have been calling-out the maitre d/manager?

I wanted to complain to the manager but my misses was cringing at the thought of me complaining a perfectly justified complaint. It is an open plan kitchen there and when i looked in, didn't look like any Italians actually worked in there. Won't be going back to give them a second chance.

Ps. i'm not a moaning bastard generally. I think that constructive criticism should be as valid to restaurant staff as praise. If nobody can be arsed pointing out the errors of their(cooking) ways, then they surely don't know if their standards are being maintained.

Giorgio's at the end of Portland St towards the Gmex.

Went on Valentine's Day

We ordered:

Starters:
Baked Aubergine in Tomato Sauce
Spare Ribs in an Italian BBQ Sauce

Mains:

Spaghetti Carbonara
Penne Pasta with Ham, Mushrooms & Pesto

Bottle of Pinot Grigio

Whole order came to £53. Absolute bargain and food was tremendous! Will definitely be going back.
