Decent Italian restaurants in town

Don Giovanni's opposite the old Pancake House on Oxford Road - really smart and not too expensive either - one of my favourite restaurants!

Stock is the best Italian in town for me although It'll be more than £20 a head.

The original across the road was excellent....new place is way too up itself for me.

Leoni's just off the Albert Sq end of Cross St is good for a bit of cheap n'cheerful.

Food's not bad and loads of lunchtime/early dining specials.

Check opening hours, though, as it shuts mid afternoon some days.

Some good reports on Bluemoon the other day about Jamie Oliver Italian restaurant thats just opened on King St. Do a search for the thread , the OP said prices were very reasonable and a great setting for a restaurant ( old bank ).

Nothing to write home about to be honest,i understand its only been opened a week or so(teething problems) but the service was awful, waited 90 mins for a table which was told would be ready in 30..

Menu was pretty basic and so was the food, orderded a bottle of wine and they put it in a ice bucket next to our feet,i said wheres the stand waitress looked at me and said we dont have any they just go on the floor ..unbelievable.

And i dont know what the essex lad was doing when he was designing these toilets,if you have been in you will understand.

Cant remember the name of it but there`s one in the Arches just round the corner from The Beetham tower. Fantastic food, great service and excellent value.
Can anyone please tell me the name? I wouldn`t mind going again. Cheers
