Decent Pub/Bar showing the game in Picadilly on Thursday?

I'm told they sell beer on the concourses at Coms. Some people with shed loads of work arrive at games a few minutes late and leave a bit early. Rumour has it there wont be a full house on Thursday so arrival and departure shouldn't be too difficult.

Not for uefa games fella

Thanks for the advice Sky Tot , so looking forward to it , can't wait to see my boys face the first time he see's the stadium .

I take a look at Bluemoon everyday but didn't join till today so can't start new topic and hoped that i could get some advise on this one. I've been a City fan for 41 years now and managed to get up to Maine road now and again in my youth and before the second marriage and 4 kids. Have been to Eastlands once when it first opened on a weekend trip with wife ( Beat by Arsenal ) and tomorrow i am coming up from Oxfordshire with my 8 year old boy for his first ever trip to see City play. We are staying at Ancoats and i would just like a bit of advise so i can make it a special day for him. It doesn't look too far to walk so i just wondered is it a safe walk and is there a pub i can pop into with him on the way before the game so he soak in the atmosphere. Thanks

I wouldn't walk whilst your with your lad in all honesty, you'll be alright but it's a decent enough treck and a rough area. I'd jump in a taxi (6 quid) or get one of the buses form picadilly (£1.20 or so) - can't remember the number of the bus but thetre'll be plenty of blues getting on, its the stop on the northern quarter side of picadilly and not the portland street side

It's match day it won't be rough for Blues heading to the game.

Might be best though getting the bus from Piccadilly due to the walk involved for an 8 year old. Just ask at reception in the hotel for the quickest route to the City bus and they will point you down.

I'm guessing (I may be wrong) that you're staying in the Travelodge. I live just across the road. I've never had any trouble walking to and from the match through Ancoats, but if you're concerned there are usually plenty of fans walking to the ground via Pollard Street. If you don't fancy traveling by foot you can catch the 216 bus on Great Ancoats Street (or in Piccadilly Gardens) which will take you straight to the stadium.

If you go about 1 1/2 miles up the road, there is a massive pub like building (only it wont be serving beer) and you can watch it there, Huge life size screens, should be quiet a few blues in there as well, I thinks its called COMS something daft like that anyway ;)

£3.50 a pint!!!!!

Once again thanks for all the advice. Now if he can keep still for five minutes i can get him ready and go catch the train.

Wow this post is really constructive! Bravo you! You must be so so proud of yourself coming up with that little gem!!

I’m not going to discuss my or Marks commitment to the club as it goes without saying, and quite frankly I can’t be bothered to spend my time answering your pathetic attempt at humour .... Now go away if you haven’t got anything to actually contribute...... before you hurt yourself.

Get to the game you part timer ;)

You'll all be pleased to know, that due to a change of circumstances, we can and will now go to the game tonight.

I extend my middle finger to those of you who gave me shit.

That is all.
