Bit weird this one. We know that we wanted Bellingham but also know we never bid for him. So imo City must have had encouragement from the Rice camp. No way we bid if he’s made it clear he wants to only go to Arsenal.

Arsenal bid 75 + 15 and it got declined hard. 80 + 10 doesn't seem much different, even if its easier addons.

Depends on payment structure. It was reported Arsenal offered a bad payment structure over too many years with too little being paid up front. An offer with a better payment structure, twice as much being paid up front for example, could be a much better offer even if the figures in total are similar.

All about instalments at this stage we could give them 80 within 2 years I’m sure arsenal were paying it in 4. Plus our add ons could be much more achievable than theirs but they are coming in with a new bid very soon.

Arsenal was paying it in 6 installments no wonder West ham laughed at it.

The feeling i got from both Ornys' and Romanos reports is that this bid is getting rejected fairly fast if Arsenal bid tomorrow.

I'd love to know what the add-ons are for City and Arsenal.

I'd think that Arsenal would have to go with player related ones like appearances, goals and assists, maybe games won. Whereas City would instead go with team related success like winning silverwear. I just picture us wanting to avoid having anything but team success as the ultimate driver.

So counter to popular opinion maybe the add-ons from Arsenal might be more achievable than those at City. And therefore if we are forced to pay more we'll bump up the 80M side instead of the 10M side.

Just guessing obviously.
