Good to see us signing a fast attacker (Sinclair).

From what Sky say Maicon (FB), Wright (GK) and Garcia (DM) are either signed or on their way. Good.

We add above to Rodwell.

All good but not great.

This does not address CH & particularly the deep lying play maker role in midfield.

Would be delighted to see Alonso or someone of his ilk. We tried with Pizarro last season and he added something we did not have. Looks like De Rossi is a no. Just wonder why we have not secured a play maker, though of course there is still time.

Garcia has a very good range of passing mate. Short and long. Not a Pirlo but still solid.

Mancini clearly doesn't see the need for one as there have been a few on the market and seemingly we haven't bid for them.

Roma ended up letting Pizarro go on a free transfer so we could have kept him for nothing in a limited role.

Rodwell, Garcia, Nastasić, Maicon and Sinclair, providing they all come off, will be very good pieces of business for us and sort us out for the season

He desperately wanted De Rossi, we all know what went on with that!

We really do need a world class midfielder next to Yaya though. Barry is a fantastic Premier League player but does not cut it at European/ International level. plus if Yaya gets injured, we need a world class cover!

Garcia looks a great De Jong replacement and a good option go the team, but he ain't world class!!

World class midfielders aren't readily avaliable though are they.

If Mancini feels Garcia is the one then I can't wait to see him play. I have complete trust in him and the rest of the scouting/coaching team.

Best "cheapie" deep-lying playmaker out there now could be Benat. Rumours that Swansea have made a late bid for him, he is an incredible passer.

Say hello to the deep-lying playmaker we already have.

At the start of the window, the general consensus was that we needed a wide player, centre half cover and a 'deep-lying playmaker'.

Sinclair = wide player, though not the Bale/Pedro standard that many of us hoped for.

Centre back = Nastasic, Javi Garcia

Holding midfielder = Rodwell, Javi Garcia

Add to that the Champions League experience of Maicon which enables us to play the new 3-5-2 formation much more effectively, the shifting of RSC and Bridge and it's been a pretty good transfer window, with a net spend of around £30m.
