Yes, I know we kept a clean sheet but if it wasn't for Shay saving the day with saves from Beattie and Tuncay it could have been a very different story and against the rags in the cup will be very different dependant on what side they put out. I think we'll find out a lot tonight when we play Wolves and have to contest with the likes of Kevin Doyle, but do you think we'll get the new defenders in time for possibly the biggest match that I can remember?

Mate, we kept a clean sheet for the first time in 2 months and your moaning about how it was so close and how we could easily of lost it.

Mancini will have noticed that and he will address it.

It's the mentality to have now though. Always wanting to improve.

It's not a case of me moaning, it's a case of me wanting us to be better prepared for superior opposition when we face them and be able to keep a clean sheet then too.

i dont think anyone is under the impression the defence is sorted now.But they were more determined and hopefully more organised.
we will see tonight.but the signs are positive.

Given is a very good goalkeeper but the Man City (I have seen only the last game in this season), I think needs a very good defender also in 4 back . . . and in january Toure go . . . needs a central defender very soon !

Who would you buy personally and as a seperate question, who do you think Mancini will be looking at?

In Italy sure Chiellini, but in January I think it is very difficult to buy. . .
I think they looking before at premier's players

That's Shay Given's job, he is part of the defence. Most teams will have chances, it's up to everyone to do their part to stop them.

It will be very difficult to get anyone in from England where everyone knows how desperate we are and will operate the 'think of a number, square it and add £20M'' pricing policy. It will probably have to be a personal favour to Mancini from some Italian club if we want someone half decent in a hurry ( or perhaps someone desperate for money, Pompy?)
