we have no legs in midfield and we're thinking of zero midfielders?
I don't think we'll sign a DM because we have no long term need for a DM.
Besides our current one is recovering from an ACL injury and can’t be flogged to death like he was over the last 3 seasons?!
I wouldn't want middle ground in the middle of our park. But yeah, it's a matter of definition. Not ever player is top or dross. There's a huge amount of middle ground between thos two.
For squad spots:
there would be space for a DM instead of Cambiaso, but we seem to be quite serious with Juve.
A DM on top of Cambiaso would mean another player out off our current A list. Who would that be?
Gundogan?
Kev?
Doku?
Grealish won't help, he's on a HG spot. Or we sign a HG DM. That could be expensive...
We have 3 spots just put the DM, Cabiaso and Marmoush in the CL, the rest can play PL games etc at a guess anywayI wouldn't want middle ground in the middle of our park. But yeah, it's a matter of definition.
Getting over the injuries in defence plus our new signings may already have some good effect.
Maybe Cambiaso would offer some 'legs'?
Anyway we are going in circles. I want top players at City, we won't get a top DM besides Rodri. Yes, Rodri will have setbacks but we have to handle that and have enough legs.

We can only change 3 players in our CL squad regardless.I wouldn't want middle ground in the middle of our park. But yeah, it's a matter of definition.

Reis and Khusanov would feel really pleased...We have 3 spots just put the DM, Cabiaso and Marmoush in the CL, the rest can play PL games etc at a guess anyway
Don’t think either would be an issue, both are project players and I expect they have been sold on that fact for this season.Reis and Khusanov would feel really pleased...
and it wouldn't be quite Pep-like, but in theory possible yeah.
Might not be an issue if we lose to PSG :)Don’t think either would be an issue, both are project players and I expect they have been sold on that fact for this season.
Yeah I can defo see a world where at these 2 don’t go into that squadMight not be an issue if we lose to PSG :)
Forget anyone who 'could' play there, or could 'cover' there....we struggle now, because we haven't got a holding midfielder, and we will struggle when Rodri is fit....because he will never be the same level after this. In the summer we need the best holding midfielder available, or make the best 'become' available.I think the plan might be to use one of the current defenders as cover for the number 6 role...especially with the amount of defenders we are bringing in
Stones would be the ideal player long term - but he just cant stay fit and should not be in consideration soley based on this.
Akanji has done it but he is not ideal - he aint press resistant at a very top level - but he can do a job there - prefer to see him at right back though
Gvardiol - I thought from the moment I saw him he could be earmarked for the Rodri role - he has all the attributes needed except maybe the bit we aint seen is receiving the ball in the middle of the pitch while facing his own goal....does he have the 360 degree vision needed in that position?
I dont see either the two new lads being trusted there yet....maybe moving forward with Reis but not when he is new to the league....
then there is the Italian lad Cambiaso....looks like a full back to me with the way he moves but I would say he could do a job there.....but again would he be able to do it at the very top level is a key game for instance....Stones for instance I would trust there in any game....and moving forward possibly Gvardiol but the others......at present they are good cover

Based on??? Are you in the medical profession?Forget anyone who 'could' play there, or could 'cover' there....we struggle now, because we haven't got a holding midfielder, and we will struggle when Rodri is fit....because he will never be the same level after this. Whenever Stones has played the actual DM role he was been awful.I think the plan might be to use one of the current defenders as cover for the number 6 role...especially with the amount of defenders we are bringing in

Show me the players who were out injured for a season, and came back as if they had never been out......I'll save you the effort, a couple at most ;)Based on??? Are you in the medical profession?
Can you back this up by giving some details on all the other players who have had an ACL - demonstrating how they have never reached their previous levels?
That’s called passing the bookShow me the players who were out injured for a season, and came back as if they had never been out......I'll save you the effort, a couple at most ;)
We will see.....vast majority are never the same ;) let's hope he's one of the very small handful that is.Classic "nonowt" remark
Ok so you can’t back up your statement. Here’s a few for you & most of these didn’t have the medical support available now:We will see.....vast majority are never the same ;) let's hope he's one of the very small handful that is.
