Yet again we blame Lescott for losing a lead. Could this have anything to do with Bridge being out of position numerous times or him not watching the ball in the air coming from behind him. Perhaps it has something to do with Toure watching the ball for their second goal and not picking up the run into our 6 yard box of the scorer or maybe it could be to do with Toure's positional play for the equaliser when he was again ball watching unaware that a Burnley player was coming up behind him, unmarked because Zabaletta was absent from his position. I thought Toure was one of Hughes best signings, but can now see why Arsenal let him go. I also think his form has plummeted since he was made captain, that has happened before with good players going weak at the knees when they get the arm band.

Lescott is certainly guilty of some poor defensive play, but not guilty for all our ailments. Bridge & Zabba need to be more responsible about who is going forward and Toure needs to marshall the troops better as well as being more aware of dangers around him and finally Lescott needs to believe in himself, his ability & size, more than once he has been muscled off the ball by lesser opponents (Nugent yesterday, Zamora for Fulham) he should let opponents know he is there like he used to do for Everton, whats a couple of yellows in the general scheme of things.

Maybe a somewhat OTT assessment, but if Mr Hughes doesn't sort it, not only will we be looking to replace one or two of them, but it won't be him doing the looking

Last season Dunne was made to look average because of the bad positional play by our full backs . Mr Hughes decided we needed new central defenders . Mr Hughes was wrong to sell Richard Dunne, our problems have always been in the full back department.

Distin and Dunne would have made a better fist of it than Toure and Lescott, we had big bertie bollocks must have some expensive player syndrome in the summer. We now have two attack minded centre halves who don't communicate well ans seem to have taken us backwards. They want bloody shooooting!

Dunne was a committed City player and a good defender, he kept two clean sheets with Toure before he left, why was he let go? He is proving what a good player he is at Villa, what a strong NEW WAITING TO GEL defence they have compared to ours. Wonder why they do not need masterly excuses, but we do.

Like it has been said elswhere,

put Lesscott out left and bring in VC to play a long side of Toure.
