Jermain Defoe out for three weeks with a tear to his hamstring. Will miss their Stoke fixture and doubtful for Portsmouth and Sunderland. Never nice to see a player injured but still something for us to take encouragement from.

Although Pavlyuchenko is finding form right now he doesnt gel particularly well with Crouch.
