A proven Premiership striker is a must for next season rather than a big money gamble from aboard, I would like to see us go for a Defoe who will score goals given a run and would also offer impact from the bench.

RVP has been the difference this season and hate to admit it.

30-year-old Defoe who hasn't scored in the league since Christmas time and who Spurs are desperate to replace with a real quality striker? He has his good patches but on the whole is average and inconsistent, definitely not what we want.

I've been saying that for years. There's a lot to be said for strikers who do the donkey work, run the channels, etc , etc, but there's a place for an out-and-out goalscorer in any team. You could say that's what we've lacked this season.

Did you move to Bolton from broadmoor? :-)
Seriously though mate, a couple of years ago he may have fit in at City but for where we want to be he isn't good enough these days. I'd rather bring on a youngster than go after the likes of Defoe.

He he's never even scored 20 league goals in one season! He's just a decent striker who belongs at a mid-table club (ask Spurs fans who are begging for a real high-end striker like Higuain), if we want nothing but a goal poacher we can do much better than him. His only scored more than 13 Premier League goals once in his career. Our young boy Guidetti could probably match his average goals-per-season count in the league (about 10).

When Defoe gets chances, he generally scores them. In our team, he'd get lots of chances. How many times have you screamed " SHOOT" at any number of our players ? Defoe shoots on sight, not always the right decision but, I'd be prepared to take a risk on him.

He's scored 10 league goals from 103 shots this season. In comparison Dzeko, who many feel just isn't quite right for us, has scored 12 goals from 68 shots. Misfiring Aguero has scored 9 goals from 71 shots. Defoe has these occasional good patches that convince people he's great......... he's not.
