No but the fact it's widely said he has a release clause, which aren't always "private contract deals" (Joe Allen spring to mind? His £15million release clause was well publicised and then triggered by Liverpool), suggests he does have one or else why would so many journos/Fulham fans say he does? After all, the very reason they would be added to a contract in English football where they are not obligatory like in Spain is to give the player a potential escape if he wants to move on and if a club like Spurs shows interest it'd quickly become public as it seems to have been...

If it's completely private how would any club know what it is in order to trigger it?

I think it's much more likely that a player's agent would know the details of his client's contract and he, maybe a wild guess here, may pass that on to the club enquiring about buying said player
A tad more plausible than some random Interneters knowing perhaps?
