OK, so this should be very easy to KNOW.
I believe the touchline official is supposed to TURN in a particular position based on what he believes the decision should be. I see it all the time for "corner or goal kick?" and ASS-U-ME it is exactly the same for a goal line decision.
The liner certainly MOVES, but I don't know what the movement means. I think a UEFA Official should be able to clear this up by showing that the liner not only SAYS something to the ref, but he ALSO makes the BODY MOVEMENTS (faces a particular direction) that clearly indicate he felt it was a DeMichelis goal.
If not, then they are clearly indicating they're a bunch of lying, cheating bastards with a crate of eggs on their face.....not that they are not that already, of course!
BTW, why do we not ALL know what the touchline official positions mean already?
One thing I know FOR SURE...the exact same touchline official that gave their penalty is the one who appeared NOT to give our goal. That begs basic ability to be a touchline official, doesn't it? Thought these were the creme de la creme of each nations refs and liners? Does that mean the French officials overall suck???
