Demichelis retires?

He has had a great career and some great performances for us but the Derby was a game too far for him and i saw a player who looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up and just didn't want to be out there.

The very best of luck and wishes to him, whatever his future holds.

At least we got him to cut off that fucking awful ponytail.

Manchester the style capital of the universe.

The guy has been a very good player in his time.

He played in a World Cup final in 2014.

He is passed it now at our level & that of international football.

However he has played for City & respect should be shown.

I remember Kompany being sent off early at Hull & down to 10 men Demichelis marshalled the defence to see us to victory.

Although David Silva was immaculate that day, this was without doubt MD finest game for us and as you say the way he marshalled the defence that day was wonderful.

I haven't seen Silva play better than that day.

I believe that was the match that gave us the impetus and belief we could win the title that year (even if we did lose against Liverpool and I left Anfield thinking that was it over).

I'll always remember him as being a key player and arguably our best defender in 2014. Not forgetting, of course, his celebration with the trophy after the game against West Ham.

He has been a good signing for us. It's not his fault the way he has been used by Pellegrini of late. He can still do a job as a second half sub to shore up midfield or defence - but he just hasn't the pace to start and that has been plain for a while to everyone except the manager. I for one will thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best when he departs at the end of the season.

Agreed.
He should never have been selected against the rag youngsters as his pace has gone. Pellers hung him out to dry and we got to suffer a defeat against the scum.

A great guy asked to perform in a league where pace exceeds anything he had left. Mismanagement at all levels plain and simple.
Yep. Hung out to dry against an 18 (?) year old forward who was way, way too fast for him, and a midfield that didn't give enough cover.
