Personally not a fan of this transfer as I am not sure whether he is technically better than Nastasic despite his experience.

Also not sure how he would improve our defences attempts to play a high line as if i recall correctly, he is rather slow.

Would rather Pepe + Demichelis rather than just Demichelis on his own.

Knows exactly how to play the PelleG way and a mean tackler, a good quick fix for no money.

He possesses similar physical attributes to Mertesacker. Make of that what you will.

Like Mertesacker, he also reads the game very well and has already proven himself capable of playing in a system with a high line. I'd probably rather him than silly money on Pepe.

He is the type of player I would put down as a back up center half whilst Pepe would instantly want to command a first team position if anything.

I would prefer an out and out back up as I want Nastasic to fully flourish under us, but I do want Pepe for the CL experience.

Kompany and Pepe in the Champions League could be an absolute beast of a central defense, they would just have to gel perfectly.
