The most retarded decision is either letting his contract run down and lose him for peanuts or by keeping him at the club where he has only had one full season as a professional and expect him to challenge both Kompany and Mangala. Not sending him out on loan to the Turkish League (where Denayer has chosen his next club).

If Galatasaray and Sunderland are the two options i'd much rather he went to Sunderland. 2-3 tough champions league games and a further handful of tough league games and a chance of winning some silverware doesn't compare to 20-30 tough games against premier league opposition. Champions league experience is vastly overrated compared to playing a season where every game you're up against decent strikers.

I agree with this. Sunderland would develop him much better as he will be under sustained pressure to keep the side afloat against very good opposition. That may sound unfair for the lad but if he wants to be the next Kompany he needs to prove he can handle that sort of pressure. He won't have that same experience in Turkey and many of the matches he will play will be well below Premier League standard.

It seems it is already done, though.
