Derby Betting

6-1 again. 425-1 with Paddy Power. Stick a fiver on to win two grand.
The cup games were both 3-2 to them, so logic says that the league games will both be 6-1 to us.

OP - some advice.

Bet on what you think will happen, not what you hope will happen.

Hence the purpose of this post.

I'm want to avoid getting caught up in the build up to the derby match and consider some serious predictions. Which fellow posters have provided.

-- Thu Apr 26, 2012 6:50 pm --

I can't see no-one scoring but tbh, my money would go on a draw. We are City and this will be done the hardest way possible, right down to the last game!

Interesting view that. William Hill today had virtually same odds for a draw as a utd win. Surprised me, cos I would have thought a draw by far least likely result; we need to go for the win big style don't we? - so we'll either get the win, or get exposed going for it in which case they'll get some goals.

Last years home derby was very cagey, one of those games where neither team really wants to win. We do have to win but if we get beat on monday it is absolutely over unless United get beat twice which is unlikely with the psychological advantage.

Betting wise i'm saying a draw because United have the upper hand as in a draw puts them in the driving seat for the last 2 games. A very unlikely bet is the scoreless draw but i think a 1-1 or similar is a good one.

It's going to be a very tactical and nervy game if you ask me with a goal at most seperating it.

Yep, more and more I'm thinking it will be a repeat of the semi final FA Cup match last year. United would be happy with a draw.

Please help, as I am now going to be miserable till Monday.

3-0 Tevez first goal £10

Rooney first yellow card £10

Balotelli last goal £5

City red card £5

Not saying your wrong, just my opinion, but can't see Rooney getting the first yellow. Too many derby's have gone by where I thought the ref would of been given a directive by the FA to book the gobshites early on to stamp it out. But alas the FA is bent.

I agree with Mario getting last goal, i'm swining between him and Yaya, but more Mario.

Use betfair and be a trader, much easier to make money than the traditional bookie way.

Depsite still waiting for my free £10 bet for signing up during Euro 2008, I gave Betfair a try and was a lost lamb. Plus, out of all the sites, that's the one I think that would get me hooked again, if I ever managed to get my head round it that is.

-- Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:10 pm --

You are getting no help from me mate,

I had £5 Fowler 1st Goal
£5 Fowler and 3v1
£5 3 v 1
We were walking out of the aisle in East Stand level 3 when SWP collected the ball and watch him snatch £965 winnings from me.

Saying that I would sooner beat them 4 v 1 on Monday rather than win £965.

Good Luck mate, I hope what you bet brings the team luck.

All I can say is, ouch! That puts my stupid choice about Torres into perspective.

Best give that idea a miss if you have an addictive personality! good discipline by budgeting yourself to £50 per season.

My bets will be backing us and trade off if we go 1-0 up. And back the 0-0 just incase.
I don't do scorecasts or first/last goalscorer, bookies milk bets like those as they are so hard to land.

Why not stick it all on United win...

City win, your ecstatic and wont give a fuck you've lost your bet

if United win you suicidal but at least you can pick a bit of dough up in the morning

if its a draw then just go home and have a wank

This is what I have always done but without the draw/wank situation and personally I think this to be a faultless plan.

Bravo old boy.

If you are going to go down that route either lay city on the exchanges, or have those toss pots as draw no bet or win and draw. Personally I couldn't put anything on them to get a result but everyone is different :)
