Derby confirmed as Thursday, 27th April 8pm

As a further point - what if we get to the FA cup semi? That's another fixture that will need rearranging

The FA really needs to sort out the FA Cup dates. If City get through to the quarters there will be 6 matches postponed that weekend (if Burnley had beaten Lincoln, it would have been 7!). Could be 3 games to be rearranged for us and the rags. Not only that they (or Spurs) might have final PL game on 21st May, EL final on the 24th and FA Cup final on the 27th. The fixtures are getting beyond a joke now and something needs sorting. The answers could range from an 18 team league, no replays for FA Cup ties, no League Cup or League Cup being finished pre Christmas (certainly get rid of two leg semi-finals) and all FA Cup ties after round 4 being midweek.

Not so long ago team played each other five times to get a result with no penalty shoot outs. Now we get no replays for the last 3 rounds and people start to care less about it.

Was there ever five? I can recall a couple of times there were 3 replays. Does anybody know what the record is for City.
However, there is clearly a fixture problem here and it will not be easy to resolve. Can't see a reduction to 18 in the league.
One possible solution is to start the Cup before Christmas. To do this the early rounds of the LC would form part of a pre-season tournament. This would free up dates
later in the year and ease congestion.

The most ever was 6 games (5 replays) before Alvechurch beat Oxford City (November 1971)
Watford is probably the record for CIty in January 1986 3rd round. 2 replays I think. Lost 3-1 in the 2nd replay. Probably others but most will be well before my time!

Are Europa dates sacrosanct? I had a feeling that a fixture pile up might allow the UEFA rules (or are they guidelines?) to be overridden. If we get to the FA semis there will be a pile up.
Obviously not if they can bring the Stoke game forward to a CL night.
