Derby County - Rooney leaves with immediate effect (p69)

I think they've remedied that slightly by moving to the other side of Derby.
And we've got room to talk. Anyone remember/was at the City v Arsenal FA Cup match in 1970/71. when we lost 1-2?
Never complain again.

Lol, that second goal was like half the goals we concede now(except the pitch is better) nothing changes eh.

Honestly as Derby fans we are born with thick skin the amount of crap we have had to deal with in the last 15 years alone would make the average fan go hiding under their beds.

We broke the record for lowest points in the Prem and the way this season has started i wouldn't be shocked if we beat the record in the championship. Its been absolutely soul destroying supporting this club in the last few seasons, we keep thinking the only way is up yet each season seems to find a way of knocking us a little bit further down.

But praying to God this is finally the turning point
Welcome to the club mate. Always remember some cracking games against Derby County.

You do realise that you'll all now have to become experts on accountancy and finance, and (hopefully in a few years) Financial Fair Play. I'm available for consultancy work if required.

I take an interest in the Rams as my Mrs supports them. The day they first mentioned Rooney I predicted he would become manager

However, a couple of observations:

Derby last played 8 days ago then it was an international break - why wait a week to sack Cocu?

If the takeover is imminent its unusual for the outgoing board to sack a manager. They normally leave him in place and let the new guys decide/foot the bill as per Wolves and Kenny Jackett in 2016.

Appointing Rooney when in such a perilous position is a huge and potentially fatal gamble unless someone else is lined up. They need experience at this point - even BFS on a short term deal plus Rooney is more use on the pitch than in the dugout.

I feel sorry for Cocu. He was an ambitious appointment but you can't ignore a club like Derby being bottom ofthe Championship. Even Wednesday have overtaken them and they started on minus points!
Appointing Shrek, like Lampard before him is a PR move to make the sheepshaggers look relevant.

Hopefully they'll realise he's their Stuart Pearce and replace him someone who knows what the fuck they are doing.

In their current predicament I think Paul Cook or an emotional return for the strange Mr Pearson would be good shouts but if the takeover goes through they may have a 'sexier' name lined up - Walter Zenga is out of work again!

If Derby go down the Rooney route then it will all end in tears, hard to argue that he wasn't a quality footballer but the lad has no brain cells, never make a manager

Totally agree. Paul Cook has been excellent wherever he has been - promotion with Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Wigan. My Wednesdayite mates are gutted they didn't get him and even more gutted that they have Pulis.

Pearson and current Rams chair Mel Morris didn't see eye to eye, but he too could be a, good choice with backing.

Remember watching City at the Baseball Ground, and Maine Line being escorted around the pitch to the City/away end while the game was being played, with chants of....”MCFC-Maine Line!”, being sung. Crazy days. Who’d have thought then that football would eventually be turned into sanitised day out?
