Maybe... but if two others did the same and didn't get punished then you'd have a claim against any punishment imposed on you. Its naïve in the extreme by Derby and any lawyer would have told them they simply couldn't defend the position they got themselves in.

I think him coming to the end of his career and the other two being sellable assets meant that they would never sack the two youngsters. Money talks and this was Derby's thinking probably
 
Derby/Wycombe fixtures are interchangeable as published earlier today.

Rooney could face Accy at home first game if Derby's accounts don't stand up to scrutiny regarding rules on player amortization.

Taking over a Championship club with rughead in charge is a bit different to taking over a league 1 club with no manager...
