Derby County - Rooney leaves with immediate effect (p69)

Forest fans despise us
Loads of mates who follow Derby, always wanted them to do well but not since Pubehead McKerbcrawler turned up like a vulture waiting for Cocu to get the sack

I haven't met a Forest fan like that yet, and I know a few. One or two have bragged that they've won a trophy that they say we will never win, but that's just a normal jibe.

As soon as the granny shagger turned up at Pride Park, it was clear that he had designs on that job. He's not pulling up any trees and his press conferences when he loses are just typical rag behaviour. His behaviour at Rotherham was embarrassing as was his whining about Barnsley being direct. Deal with it! I've felt a bit conflicted to be frank when we go to Pride Park since he's rocked up (about 4 or 5 times last season), but I've got a lot of time for Derby. He's just passing through like Lampard was... But I liked Lamps.

Nor have I, of course they'll sing about us not winning the european cup, I expect we'll do that when we win it too.

I don't have a problem with most of the current PL, but if Forest came up I'd be delighted for their fans, just as I would Sheff Wed. There's quite a few in that division that I wouldn't want to see get promoted, but Forest are one of the least offensive in there to me (apart from they play in red).

great side of the 1970s and good crowds back then
like i said if i was looking into investing in football and a club Nottingham forest would be my choice not derby
Still doesn’t make them a sleeping giant they had a few decent years under clough.

All the forest fans I know living in Nottingham despise Derby and save their hate for Liverpool who they are convinced denied Clough at least one UEFA cup, possibly more.

Should have added “in my experience” tbf
To be fair, if that’s your experience that’s the only opinion you can have, take as you find etc.

My “do we?” Comment was of genuine surprise as I’ve never felt any dislike towards City ever, even when we’ve played you (in the distant past admittedly) your fans have always put a smile on my face. That’s always been an opinion of mine and most Forest fans I know.

There are a few teams I do “hate” but City definitely aren’t among them, Derby aren’t either (just to get back on topic), Derby ensure that there are at least two decent games a season for us (as long as we’re in the same division) and there’s plenty of local Banter.

Derby have more fans than Forest, always had a higher average, they got more than Leeds for much of the latter’s time in the Championship

True, Derby have a good support. In many ways remind me of us , a false dawn over every horizon. They have also been haunted by a series of "questionable" owners. I have many memories of my trips to the baseball ground , long before i moved to the area. Hope they survive.

Probably lucky to get away with bankruptcy last year over the dodgy ground sale.

I once had to stop in Quarndon when i saw Mr Clough struggling to stand one early morning, told me to do one.

Derby have a very loyal fan base bet most of them are thinking ffs about Rooney, like we did about Alan Ball.

and Frank Clarke ....talking of which why do people think Forest are a big club with a loyal fan base. They are relatively the worst supported team in the whole pyramid. People forget very easily... I recall Cloughie questioning why he and his players bothered bringing football to Nottingham after the ground was half empty one night for a European qtr or semi final.... the only time the shit houses filled the ground was for that fateful Sunday afternoon when they were in the second division and played us in the FAcup and a certain 16 year old got his head kicked in by a load of fukin 40 odd year old greasers

I've been to Quarndon once in my life and there was a big party of pissed up Cloughs having a Sunday lunch time session. Nigel was one of them, well pissed despite being due to play for City the next day.

That would be the Joiners Arms. Once took a coachload of blues there. Never again, they pilfered everything that was not locked down.

They are, and have been for some time, in exactly the position they were, when Cloughie had Peter Taylor arrived at the City Ground; a run-of-the-mill second tier club.

It was the genius of the two of them that turned Forest into European champions, and they’ve never been the same since.
