When companies slash staff to the bone and expect people to work overtime to cover it's bound to bite them on the arse eventually. Most routes have severe disruption, ie no drivers available.
That’s what happens if folk don’t need the OT anymore.
Absolutely appalling our train network when compared to other countries. Like much of this country, it’s going to the dogs.
Every Sunday recently, Northern are especially bad with rest day (not) working.Blackpool north must be up there as one of the worst.

Do you want to work when you don't have to?Every Sunday recently, Northern are especially bad with rest day (not) working.
They'd rather pay 'contingency managers' 3 times our daily wage with half our training to 'work' instead. The answer is to employ and train more drivers/conductors. I know this is a really revolutionary concept, but sometimes you have to be radical. I am willing to advise the railway companies for a modest consultancy fee (say £250,000) as I know such a change would be quite novel for them and they'd need to talk it through with their management.
