Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

The radio and media both report this, these people are actually getting paid yet still dont know the laws of the game, under the new ruling you can't have a penalty and a sending off its one or the other
You can if it's a professional/deliberate foul, ie a defender sticking out a hand on the line to block a shot or a jersey pull in the area as last man.

The referee no longer has the option of showing a red card if there's a reasonable chance that the offending player (that means the one that's committed the foul, not bogbrush or Shrek) has tried to win the ball legally.

So there was no possibility of a red card for Bravo yesterday.

I remember the experts telling us that even if a foul is committed outside the area, if it carries on into the box it can still be a penalty. This was to back up a penalty we gave away in the CL. Funnily enough, I've never heard it used since, even though there are plenty of penalty calls that would definitely benefit from this point of view.
Don't think this is exactly true, there would have to be a separate offence after they entered the box. Was it in the CL though? I thought it was against Swansea when Micah pulled the lads shirt and he bravely made it to the edge of the area before flopping like a bag of spuds?

No surprise that Pogba is getting an easy ride in the media. If we had paid that much for him and he put in a performance like that in blue, the media would be queuing up to stick the knives in.
