Computer broke the other day and looking to buy a new one quickly, budget of £300.

Found this one that seems adequate <a class="postlink" href="http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5074543.htm#pdpPromotions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... Promotions</a>

Just thought I would ask on here if it's a good price or if anyone could link me to a better one as I don't know too much when it comes to computers.

Thanks in advance!

Slightly better spec, same make, less money:

It's amazing how cheap PC's are nowadays my first PC cost nearly a grand and it had 4 mb Ram and 250 mb hard disk
I built my dad one for £220 in March last year, and it's a decent little machine.

1 x Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Ballistix Sport Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) £29.15
1 x Coolermaster Elite 430 All Black Case With Elite 500W PSU 235611 £52.41
1 x AMD A6-3670K 2.7GHz Socket FM1 4MB L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor £49.92
1 x Asrock A75M A75 Socket FM1 7.1 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard £38.74

Didn't bother buying a hard drive or DVD drive as you can just take them right out of your old machine and my dad didn't want a new hard-drive anyway as it had all his files on.

The AMD A6 has a built-in GPU as well so it's actually ok for running games on his small monitor. £220. It's absolutely fuck all for how much machine it is.

Check out the link above, it's good bang for your buck mate

Just personal preference but I'd go AMD before Celeron all day long, TCIB may back me up with that?

*edit

I best just add that there's no operating system with that just in case you didn't notice but you can get that for fuck all if you know where to go. ;-)

nice price for the specs of that machine, just a shame no OS on it but all ways easily sorted ;)

It really is amazing what you get for your money nowadays.
My first PC was a Viglen 286 with a whopping 1mb of ram!
However am led to believe that they put a man on the moon
with the computing power of a 286!

Defo mate, amd are only an issue if your running the latest games that demand fiddly patches and stuff.

Think I'll go with this one guys, thanks, really appreciate the help.
