Seasons 1-4 = top class (season 4 is amazing TV, John Lithgow is gold)
Season 5 = just OK, expected (wanted) more
Havent seen 6 yet, been avoiding the thread on here like the plague ;)

Agree wholeheartedly, would just add that season 6 was pretty terrible unfortunately. It does set up the opportunity for season 7 to be a belter though.

just watched ep one- was good but the only thing I didn't like was the constant 'im not human' /'i have no feelings' bits, but hopefully thats just scene setting.

Just setting up one of the many themes that runs through the rest of the show, stick with it, you wont be disappointed.

Series 1 and 4 were brilliant television, 2 and 3 were not as good as the first but good enough to keep you interested until you get to the amazing series 4. Series 5 was terrible and has to be the worst of the lot, I delayed watching series 6 because of how bad 5 was. However series 6 did improve on the last and hopefully has set up series 7 to return Dexter to his best.

I just finished series 5. I really didn't think it was as bad as everyone is making out! Lithgow was always going to be a tough act to follow and I thought Julia Stiles was actually pretty good in it.

I did find it a bit troubling that Jordan Chase's catchphrase was "Take it!" but he didn't once mention Bobby Charlton.

Anyway, I'd say it's definitely worth sticking with. When it's great, it's amazing. When it's not great, it's still better than 99% of what's on TV.

Best show on t.v - I really liked season 6, never as good as season 4 or 1 though.. If season 7 lives up to expectation then were in for something pretty special.

Well worth it, series with Lithgow is amazing, he's a brilliant character. The first series isn't slow at all and you get into it fast. One of my favourites.

I've been watching it for 2 months now first on Netflix (seasons 1-3) then from torrents and I'm in the middle of 6 now. Its brilliant.

I rate in order
Season 2 (that stuff with Doakes was immense)
Season 1
Season 4
Season 5
Season 3 (Jimmy Smits tho just fantastic "I WILL FUCK YOU BACK!!" lol)

They're doing 8 in total and they already know how it will end....
