Dexys Midnight Runners

Saw them at Keele University in 1980. I don't remember them particularly standing out like, say, UB40, but then, I was more into stuff like Jonathan Richman, John Otway and Wreckless Eric.
Remember seeing an article - pre covid I think - Where John Otway and Wild Willie Barrett were offering places as roadies on their world tour - For a fee of 5 grand you could get to be an unpaid roadie hauling their gear around for them from gig to gig - am sure guys of a certain age with a few quid to spare would have jumped at it

Not sure that it ever materialised though given the pandemic

Perhaps @BlueHammer85 can do the FA Cup for worst ever songs once the current competition has finished.

I’d like to nominate The Mavericks - Just want to dance the night away, DJ Otzi - Hey Baby and The Darkness - I believe in a thing called love.

Fucking hell The Mavericks is a great shout. If you bought it you should be thoroughly ashamed.

Kev Adams (dungarees and banjo in the clip) lives in our little town and has a lot to do with local arts and events
That’s great.

Reading all these posts it’s cool to see DMR members contributing lots of positive things to society.

Helps make up for the shite they contributed to society as a band.

Sorry . . . it’s all in fun; I loathed their music but it’s just music after all.
